Inkill, :/ɪn-kē(e)|/

Inkill is a word in the Indigenous language of Quechua, which comes from the Andes. In the context of the Incan archaeological site Inkilltambo, the term inkill refers to a garden or a flowering place, highlighting its nature as a fertile and beautiful location. Some sources indicate that inkill can also mean a bearer of language, or "one who has a tongue,” referring to the act of speaking or expressing knowledge, wisdom, and heritage. Lastly, inkill is associated with the orchid sobralia altissima, which is the tallest species of the flower, and the namesake of a star in the constellation Ara.

My name is Sonny Noladiv and I started Inkill, a floral studio based in New York, after closing a chapter of my career in the gallery world. After working in the art industry for 7 years, this juncture presented my biggest opportunity to fully dive into creating my own business and expressing my creative vision through flowers and plants.

I’m a self-taught florist, and I love imagining and crafting playful and unique pieces. In my work, there are no repeats. Everyone gets a one-of-one experience. I believe that makes both the process and the outcome very exciting for me and for my clients, who trust my creativity, which is something that I cherish deeply.

I was born in the Andes of Peru, and seeing how nature grew in the wild was the most beautiful memory I will ever have in my life. I’m working to recreate those memories with my arrangements, and to make them as fun as they are wild. It is my hope that my creations could make someone feel as if they are outdoors in nature. I want to move someone to think and wonder—is that even real? Is it possible?

I would love to keep creating these pieces and experiences for large brands, events, activations, intimate dinners, and more.

I hope that we can collaborate to bring something fun to life🤎
